After the ultimate disappointment of last months Birchbox - to the point where it wasn't even worth a blog post I decided to hold out for one more month and I was pleasantly surprised! Everything in this box is exactly what I would want if I was to pick out the items myself and was overall a very pleasant surprise.

R + Co Badlands Dry Shampoo - £22.00

I am a huge lover of dry shampoo especially for day 2 when my hair is looking flat and a little on the sad side. The product contains Hawaiian volcanic ash which helps to keep your scalp clean and balance which is something I especially love about this product because I feel like normal dry shampoo in a spray canister does make my scalp feel uncomfortable especially if there is build up.

My only issue with this product which from reading the review a lot of people also felt is that if your hair was extremely greasy especially if you have thick hair that this product wouldn't do much than add texture.

4/5

BLAQ Mask - £14.00

Face masks are something I love to do I just always seem to put them to the bottom on my to buy list so receiving one in the post was exactly what I needed! This product really did seem to sort my skin out as the next morning I woke up and my skin was so much clearer. My only issue is that as I peeled off the product it did pull at my skin a little and leaved it a little red but I feel that that is more the nature of these types of products than the fault of the product itself. Also, my friend found that due to her face been sensitive her skin didn't react well to it so that is definitely something to be aware of if you do have sesitive skin.

5/5

Lumene Nordic C Glow Boost Essence - £29.00

Personally I'm not sure how I feel about this product which may be due to me not using the product for long enough for an effect to take place as although I do like using this product especially under my makeup and that it dries down rather than some serum type products which remain greasy, I haven't actually noticed any difference...yet. As it is packed with hyaluronic acid and spring water after a longer usage I may notice smoother skin but until then I won't be truely convinced on the product. However, that doesn't mean I don't like and enjoy having this step in my daytime skin routine.

3/5

Baija Gommage Festin Royal Miel Caraméilsé - £14.90

Oh my Lord. If I could be surrounded by a scent 24/7 this would be it! At first I was very reluctant as it was honey scented and honey isn't something I am the hugest fan of but this is a whole new level of goodness! The product is packed full of honey and shea butter which means not only is the sugar exfoliating the dead skin away but the honey and shea are moisturising your skin and I can't really argue with something that saves me time. The product is 97% natural ingredients which I love and find really important especially in body scrubs as I try to avoid any that don't use natural scrubs such as coffee of sugar.

5/5

Benefit BADgal BANG! Volumising Mascara - £21.50

Yet again this is another product I'm not sure how I feel about. Although my lashes look insane when I first apply it but at the end of the day I have panda eyes but everyone else keeps saying it's so life changing and the best mascara they have ever used so I guess I'm just waiting for some miracle to happen to me where I discover how amazing it is but not yet. My final issue with this product is that although it makes my lashes look really long they look dead straight with no curl which isn't rlly the look I like.

2/5

Overall I really loved this Birchbox and wished that all of them could work this well for me. I especially loved the whole message of this box which was 'Be Present, Not Perfect' which I really loved and thought that is something that isn't really focused on as the idea of perfection is on the rise through social media.

On a final note I have cancelled my Birchbox subscription. However, I will resubscribe if there is a month that really catches my eye and I do in fact want the products. This is not only influenced by the very disappointing February Birchbox but also the fact I have way too many mini products at the moment which isn't helpful when I need to be packing up and moving back home in 3 months and then to Australia in 4 months.
